The original idea for GetFluent Reading arose when our designer's daughter encountered reading difficulties. An educational psychologist identified the problem as an "inappropriate reading strategy" in which she was continuing to break words down into letters, rather than scan whole words. A friend suggested that a computer flashcard program would help overcome this problem. And it did.
